Even though we at Blind & Shutter Gallery enjoy warm weather practically all year, spring is still a great time to freshen up the home, including the window treatments. This season of renewal calls for brighter colors, lighter fabrics, and the swapping out of decorative accents. We have a few easy tips for you to use to give your home’s window coverings a springtime facelift.
Brighter Curtains and Drapes
One of the simplest ways to liven up your living space is with brightly colored drapes and curtains. Think shades of emerald green, rosy pinks, and vibrant purples. You can also use contrasting shades to spice things up. Items with undertones of red, green, and brown pair quite well with neutral tones like beige and pale pink. You can coordinate your curtains with a room’s seat cushions and area rugs to create a more lively, cohesive space. Invest in New Hardware
Spring is the season of inspired style, so take advantage of the opportunity to spruce up the hardware of your drapes or curtains. You’ll be surprised at what a difference a new curtain rod, curtain hooks, or other hardware components can make on the look of an entire room. You should keep in mind, however, that if your fabric is very busy and ornate, very decorative hardware can lead to a cluttered look. Exquisitely designed hardware components look fabulous when paired with plain fabrics.
